NEWS: Petersen Chosen to Serve on CI Board of Directors

In the recent election for The Combustion Institute (CI) Board of Directors, seven distinguished individuals were elected to serve for the 2024-2030 term. Among the newly elected members is Eric L. Petersen, a Mechanical Engineering professor here at Texas A&M University, who will contribute his extensive expertise in combustion and energy systems to the board.


The following seven candidates were chosen to serve on the Board:

  • Andres Fuentes Castillo, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile

  • Christian Hasse, Technical University Darmstadt, Germany

  • Michael E. Mueller, Princeton University, United States

  • Eric L. Petersen, Texas A&M University, United States

  • Christine Rousselle, Université of Orléans, France

  • Kelly Senecal, Convergent Science, United States

  • Bin Yang, Tsinghua University, China


Eric Petersen's election to the Board reflects the high regard in which he is held by his peers and the combustion community. His involvement in the Board will have a significant impact on the direction of CI's initiatives and collaborations in the coming years!
