NSF Award granted to COE Faculty

Douglas Allaire, Raymundo Arroyave, Alaa Mohamed Elwany and Ibrahim Karaman, College of Engineering, received a $1.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation to support a project titled, “DMREF: Optimizing Problem formulation for printable refractory alloys via Integrated Materials and processing co-design (OPTIMA).”





Dr. Allaire is a member of the J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering with the following research interests: multidisciplinary design optimization, bayesian optimization, multifidelity methods, uncertainty quantification, machine learning, design of materials, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
